About Us

Children represent one of the most climate-sensitive and environmentally vulnerable population groups. Physiological sensitivity, behavioural patterns, and dependence on household and community environments heighten exposure risks across early life stages.

Nutrition insecurity, indoor air pollution, sanitation deficits, and climate stressors rarely occur in isolation. They intersect and compound, leading to disproportionate health burdens among children living in resource-constrained and climatically vulnerable settings.

The National Conclave provides a dedicated platform to:

  • Integrate nutrition, environmental and climate sciences
  • Strengthen interdisciplinary dialogue
  • Share exposure assessment tools and metrics
  • Highlight community-based and institutional models
  • Translate research into policy frameworks

Objectives

The objective is to strengthen scientific understanding of the factors that influence child health. It also aims to document practical tools and measurable indicators for assessing climate-related vulnerability. The initiative highlights scalable interventions led by NGOs and local communities, while encouraging collaboration among academic institutions, policymakers, and civil society organizations. Ultimately, it seeks to support better policy design and more effective programme implementation.
